The PNG Immigration Division recently provided a list of countries considered “high risk” and whose nationals must obtain a Tourist Visa prior to arrival.

- ALL Arab & Middle Eastern countries
- Bangladesh

Although no specific procedure has been provided, based on recent experience, the following appears to be the best way to assist visitors from these countries:
- Peter Hughes Diving will provide the Visitor and /or booking agent, a letter of support addressed to the relevant foreign mission confirming the visit, and stating the name, citizenship & passport number of the visitor.
- The Visitor then submits the letter of support together with a visa application to the nearest PNG consulate or Australian Embassy.
- Peter Hughes Diving will also submit a similar letter to the Immigration Division, supporting the application.
The letter to Immigration must contain the full details of the planned visit, name, citizenship & passport number of Visitor, and the name an dlocation of the foreign mission where the application has been lodged.
